We accept requests from UK universities, institutes and candidates to administer their university admission tests at specified times of the year.

Below is a list of admission tests we currently administer on behalf of UK universities:

BMAT (BioMedical Admissions Test)

BMAT is a two-hour subject-specific admissions test taken by applicants of certain medicine and veterinary medicine-related courses at selected institutions in the UK.

BMAT consists of three sections:

Section 1: Aptitude and Skills (60 minutes)
Section 2: Scientific Knowledge and Applications (30 minutes)
Section 3: Writing Task (30 minutes)

  • Information for candidates (BMAT) – available in August
  • Registration form (BMAT) – available in September

Special arrangements

In most cases you will need to contact your examining board or university directly for a special need request. The examining board will contact the British Council about the arrangements and will inform you about the approval of your request.

You can contact us for a special need request if you have registered with us for your exam. You will need to provide a medical certificate issued within the last two years at the time of registration.
