The British Council would like to invite you to attend the UK Speaker Series 2016 event, where top speakers from the UK will share their cutting edge knowledge and inspire the next generation of Gulf leaders. In April 4th 2016 we will learn how key figures in social enterprise addressed social challenges through the vehicle of entrepreneurship, and how we can drive social change as leaders in our communities.
Speakers:
Safia Minney: Safia Minney MBE, FRSA is Founder and Director of People Tree, the pioneering Fair Trade and sustainable fashion and lifestyle brand. Safia developed the first organic and Fair Trade clothing supply chain and is recognised by the World Economic Forum as an Outstanding Social Entrepreneur.
Zain Miah : He started as a social entrepreneur when he set up Brawlers Boxing in London, and since then has supported entrepreneurs to set up their businesses in the UK across a variety of different sectors. Through UnLtd, he has helped universities, notably the University of Oxford, create pioneering solutions to support social entrepreneurs. More recently, he has worked on programmes which seek to support social entrepreneurs start up and grow across London.
