During the month of September, the British Council is celebrating the 100th birthday anniversary of the British story writer, Roald Dahl. Thus, the British Council Bahrain hosted British storyteller Kevin Graal for a public storytelling event, in partnership with the Dilmun Club, that took place at the club on 22nd September 2016 from 4 – 6 pm.

Famous Roald Dahl children’s publications such as The Enormous Crocodile and The BFG will be delivered by storyteller Kevin Graal. The storyteller whose visit is the fourth to Bahrain, will deliver a total of six storytelling events for children and their parents as part of his three days visit to Bahrain.

As part of the Roald Dahl celebrations, the British Council has organized private storytelling events for schools children from grades 1 and 2 at Al Iman School-Girls Section, Arabian Pearl Gulf School and Al Amal Special Education Institute, as well as a public storytelling event in the Bahrain National Museum.

The three-day program celebrating the work of Roald Dahl comes as part of the British Council efforts to further strengthen cultural relationship between Bahrain and the United Kingdom and to encourage children to read and to learn English.
